ArtMakerSpace Series:
Electronics & Cardboard

The Plug-In Studio hosted a series of free, pop-up art + tech maker events at community partner sites around Chicago. This social practice project was designed to engage children and families in an exploration of electronics and art. Participants collaborated with Plug-In Studio artists to make interactive, kinetic sculpture with recycled materials. ArtMakerSpace events were held throughout 2014-5 at ElevArte Communtiy Art, Yollocalli Arts Reach, Breakthrough Youth Network, Hyde Park Art Center, Evanston Art Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, Creative Technologies at Columbia University, and the 2015 National Art Education Association Conference. Funding for the ArtMakerSpace series was provided by the Propeller Fund. See more photos + videos from the events here.
