The Plug-In Studio is a new media art collective founded by Steve Ciampaglia and Kerry Richardson. We collaborate with young people and adults in underserved Chicago communities.
Since 2012, we have also offered free or very low cost art + technology/new media art classes in partnership with community organizations (Breakthrough Youth Network), arts organizations (Hyde Park Art Center), libraries (Harold Washington Public Library) and public schools (Holmes Elementary, Brooks Middle School).
We see our pedagogy as both critical and tactical. Our goal is to foster new media literacies and redress inequities in formal education by activating alternative learning spaces.
