REVELATIONS combines augmented reality with traditional graffiti practices. A collaboration between the Plug-In Studio and the Graffiti Institute, REVELATIONS brought together artists Kerry Richardson and Miguel "Kane One" Aguilar with teen artists from Juarez Community Academy. The teens created digital drawings and animations for site-specific, virtual installations on buildings and billboards around their neighborhood. Artworks can be viewed through a phone, both in the gallery and on the street at the actual location, using the free Aurasma app (available from iTunes or Google Play). The teens also installed traditional graffiti works in the gallery.
This project is generously supported by Chicago Art Department's Learning is a Lifestyle project. REVELATIONS was offered in partnership with Graffiti Institute.
